i rely need help with my n64 usb converter and project 64 someone please help?

i bought this and i have project 64 downloaded, so i plugged in my converter which seems fine but when i open up a rom (ocraina of time, for example), the controller doesnt work.
So then i open up options menu, configure controller plugin, set it as 4 axis 16 button joystick, have deadzone at 0%…
but then what idk what to do! someone please help i rely want to play this with my controller converter I JUST BOUGHT

ok thanks ALL THE BUTTON ARE NOW WORKING excepts i cant get the joystick to work. When i click around the analog area, and click the little grey square next to L, R, U, and D, it just wont work

Make sure the switch on the side of the converter is set to N64. If it’s set for the PS1/PS2 port it won’t receive any input from the N64 controller. Also, make sure you have assigned all the correct buttons to the controller plugin (push the A button for A, B button for B, etc.). If you don’t assign the buttons to the controller it uses the default keyboard layout.
